Appearance


    Appearance deals with the way we present ourselves. We should always remember that our first impression is a lasting impression. What ever our job title is we should dress the part, neat, clean, and well groomed. Not only should we dress the part , we should also mentally speak the part, use proper grammar and and good etiquette, our attitude should display a willingness to cooperate. According to the job, don't overdress or under dress.







Assignment:
1. People will judge you by your appearance, if you come in for a job interview not dressed appropriately, not neat, not using proper grammar, not looking like you really want the job, they will probably brush you off quickly.
2. Professionalism, efficiency, and protection.
  •     Be concise and to the point.
  •     Answer all questions, and pre-empt further questions.
  •     Use proper spelling, grammar, & punctuation.
  •     Read email before you send it..
  •     Keep your language gender neutral.

Cooperation

Cooperation is being willing to learn from others even when you are in charge. It is also being able to follow the chain of command. Not just being aggressive because you are in charge. It is important to get along with your co-workers and classmates.

A leader creates a vision and influences other people toward achieving that vision. A leader is not a manager, a manager manages people in their job, a leader lead people in a certain direction.

     Self-esteem is a person's overall sense of self-worth and overall value. Our own self-esteem determines how successful we will be as students and as employees, and how well we get along with our classmates and our co-workers.
   
        To improve our self-esteem we must do the best we can at everything we do,. When we do our best our pride is motivated and we feel more confident.



Good self-esteem promote growth and good attitude about one's self, to be successful, we should set goals for ourselves and strive hard to accomplish them.

Respect Work Ethic


 

Respect is due to everyone! Respect deals with legal and ethical issues in the workplace as well as in school. It deals with cultural/racial diversity, and does not engage in harassment of any kind.
         
                                         

Diversity is the difference that makes each person unique. Sometimes we have difficulty accepting others because they are different from us, and we prejudge them without getting to know the real person. Many years ago women were not respected in the workplace because it was thought that a woman should be a housewife, but now with education and training we've earned more respect.

Communication; communication is the key to success in most things in life. You should always demonstrate appropriate nonverbal and verbal skills. Use correct language and terms when speaking and writing, slang language should not be used because others can interpret it the wrong way. In communication listening skills are also important because you want to be certain that the massage was sent the way you intended it to be sent. Communication is important in teamwork, talk to each other not at each other.
